I Will Remember For You

By: Sheri Nemec-Wies

From the Spring 2000 issue of Hopes & Dreams, newsletter of the Illinois Chapter, Huntington's Disease Society of America.

When you can't remember the fun we've had,
I will paint a picture or tell you the stories of our picnics in the sun.
When you have forgotten the beauty of spring,
I will bring you cut flowers.
When you have forgotten the beauty of the sun,
I will sing "you are my sunshine."
     When you forget my name,
I'll never grow tired of reminding you.
When you have forgotten your name,
I will be there to call you Daddy.
     When you have forgotten everything,
I know, in my heart, you will always remember to love me.
When your heart and soul forgets how to sustain life,
I will always remember you and your life will continue on - within me.
