Feeding Tubes for People with Huntington's Disease
Note: Be sure to take the person who has Huntington's Disease to see someone who specializes in swallowing problems (probably a speech language pathologist) and have a Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS) done before considering a feeding tube. Everyone is different and depending on where or at what point during the swallow things go wrong, there may be other ways to help the person with Huntington's Disease to get enough nutrition.
Extensive article on the use of feeding tubes by Jean Miller, whose daughter Kelly had Huntington's Disease.
Additional information on feeding tubes by Carmen Leal-Pock whose husband Dave had Huntington's Disease.
