Comings & Goings

From the Fall 2002 issue of Hopes & Dreams, newsletter of the Illinois Chapter, Huntington's Disease Society of America.

It is with regret that the chapter announces the departure of two of its Board members.

Barb Greer Nelson served on the board over twenty years, two of them as vice-president. Barb also organized the Northlake support group and acted as the Chapters representative at the National Convention in Denver. She has been active in both the Northlake and Cook County support groups. Barb will continue her involvement in the HD community with the family services committee, as well as with the Northlake and Cook County support groups.

Pat Scilingo rejoined the board in 1999 after serving for five years in the 1980's. Pat served as a voice on the board concerning the problems involved with living with HD. Pat will continue her contribution by serving on the family services committee.

We wish to thank both Barb and Pat for their many years of service.

It is with pleasure the board welcomes new member, Fran Gallo. Fran, along with her 11 year old daughter Giana and cat Snickers, lives in Roselle. She keeps busy working full time and cheering with Gina at cheerleading competition, basketball and football games. We're pleased that with Fran's busy schedule she has found the time to join us in the quest to find a cure for HD.
