Diary of a Brain Tumor Patient's Wife

We just had a phone call from Paul's friend who's a radiologist at U of C. He wasn't able to look at Paul's films with us last night, but he looked at them this morning with a neuro-radiologist, and they said there's not much difference from the February scans.

The tumor itself seems to have shifted a little bit, but it's really not much bigger than it was 5 months ago, which is pretty remarkable. There's a lot of edema (swelling) around the tumor, which may be what's causing the symptoms. In February they gave Paul decadron, which helped alleviate the symptoms he was having then, so I'm assuming they will do that this time too.

We go see Dr. Nicholas, the neuro-oncologist at U of C, on Wednesday, and we'll get the official word on the MRI, and find out what he recommends for treatment, etc., then. Will keep you all posted.
